Quiet Book

(If the picture doesn't work right for you, just leave a comment and I'll figure out a way to help you!) Project: Quiet Book I've always wanted to make a Quiet Book.  And not a lift-the-flap one.  I'm talking the Mother of all Quiet Books!  And I did.  I worked on it for over a year and still have a few more pages I'd like to make, but here is what I've done.  This is, by far, my favorite project I've done.  It was SO fun!  I got most of my ideas from homemadebyjill and the links she listed and then just googling pictures of Quiet Books and then some by finding something fun at JoAnn that I wanted to use so I made it up.  I hope you think it is as cool as I do... and if you don't, don't burst my bubble.  :) I was going to tell you what they all are, but I think they are pretty self-explanatory... so I won't.  If you have a question though, feel free to leave a comment and I'll answer it!  (the colored button one was my favorite... I think it

Car Mat

(If the pictures don't work well for you, just leave a comment and I could get them to you.) Car Mat I finally finished my car mat!  I've been working on it for almost five years!  I wanted to share it in case anyone out there is looking for ideas for a car mat. So this is possibly the most time and labor intensive car mat ever, but I LOVE it and am really proud of how it turned out.  I had so much fun making it and watching our kids play on it (unfinished) and beg me to finish it.  It would have been cool to have finished it a year or two ago, but at the same time I'm glad it took so long because my kids came up with some of the places to be on there. I started by buying a painter's drop mat, taking the measurements of it and then drawing (on paper) in foot-ish increments what I wanted the roads to look like and a "floor plan" of what would go where.  I looked online at quite a few other car mats (both home and factory made) to make sure I got all the shops

Breastfeeding & Breastfeeding with Raynauds

Breastfeeding I decided to write this in case anyone asks me for breastfeeding info and/or in case my daughters ever want to know what it was like for me. It's crazy how you can breastfeed five kids but still have to remember things again every time that you'd forgot. So I'm sure that by the time my daughter's may want info on breastfeeding, I will have forgotten a lot so I figured I'd write it down.  To start off, just a heads up--in my opinion, breastfeeding for the first few weeks is as natural as cutting off your own arm. If you don't have pain, you are so freaking lucky! I breastfed five kids and never did not have pain or scabs at the beginning. But they all were growing correctly so it's not that I did not have correct latch like everything and every lactation consultant will tell you. I am very small chested though and maybe that is the reason I had problems. Long story short-- breastfeeding is painful at the beginning but then it gets better and i

The reason for the blog.

I decided to make my blog private, but there were a few posts that I think that some special people in the world can benefit from!  So congrats if you're here because you are one of them! I have created a Floor Car Mat and a Quiet Book that I think are the best in the world.  :)  (with humble pride, of course!) And I also wanted to share my breastfeeding experience/info in case anyone can use it. So yeah, it's a small blog, but it's got good stuff.  :)
